Giant Stork of Doom by Fragillimus335 Giant Stork of Doom by Fragillimus335
Giganotosaurus has one of the largest skulls of any known theropod, only Spinosaurus might exceed it. But both pale in comparison to the largest pterosaur,...Hatzegopteryx. Giganotosaurus's 1.8 meter skull is small when compared to this 10 foot monster. When stalking along the ground this monster might have stood taller than a giraffe.

Beautiful!! Yet again! :) Love your work, nice pterodon and Giganotosaurus, he was a little bigger than Rex, I'm sure he was stronger, right?

Probably not, Giganotosaurus had a longer skull, but Tyrannosaurus had the more powerful bite, and was more "muscular" overall.  If the two were to fight, I assume it would be a tie almost every time.

Giganotosaurus didn't need powerful bites, its teeth were designed to slash meat. Its gape was very wide as well. If Bakker (1998) is right about Allosaurus' jaws, we can also apply the same thing to Giganotosaurus, as both were brontophagus. Giganotosaurus' gape could have been over 2 m wide.

Yes, that doesn't invalidate my previous statement.  Gig was a big slasher, rex was a strong crusher.  Both are roughly tied in the body strength department.

Yeah your probably right, and if one were to be stronger than the other (whether the rex or giga) the ratio would probably be like 49:51 unless the giga individual was much larger or the other way around.

Why not use Spinosaurus? A 1.8 meters skull is more impressive than 1.5-1.7m skull. However, nice, but Hatzegopteryx isn't larger than Quetzalcoatlus, both were 10-11 meters of wingspam.

I would...but I'm LAZY and already had the Giganotosaurus head done! :D

Hatzeg's size is up for debate, it would be safer to say it was at least as big as Quetz, maybe a tad bigger, and almost certainly more massive!

I'm always wondering how on earth an animal with such an absurdely huge skull could only be a fraction of the weight if Giganotosaurus. seems reriously hard to imagint, the skull and neck alone seem as if they could comfortably weigh as much as those of T. rex. It must be highly pneumatic indeed.

The species is Hatzegopteryx, perhaps the only pterosaur larger than Quetzalcoatlus.

Gig's holotype skull has been downsized 1.68m, and Spino's was likely longer than 1.75 meters.

They found tracks of an animal similar in size to this guy, but I don't think it was the same species. This pterosaur was found in Romania.

Maybe not a cow, these pterosaurs were incredibly light for their size, this giraffe-sized colossus was probably only about 500-600 pounds. A human would be a perfectly sized snack, one bite! The true way these thing hunted is even scarier, they probably just stalked around and stabbed medium-sized things to death with their beak....
